The card is locked due to a mistake in the PIN number of the My Number Card for the specified number of times (5 times in a row).
For security reasons, the application cannot be unlocked. Please use one of the following methods to reset (initialize) your PIN.

  • 1. Initialize and reset at a convenience store.

If you remember your 4-digit PIN (digital certificate for user authentication), you can reset it at the convenience store by following the procedure described in the link below.
    https://www.j-lis.go.jp/jpki/idreset/idreset_index.html

  • 2. Initialize and reconfigure at the municipal office.

If you have also forgotten your 4-digit PIN, please go to your local municipal office.

Communication between your smartphone and your My Number Card may not be working properly. Please try the following three steps in order.

  • Step 1:Preparation of communication environment and terminals

    Switching communications
Please turn off Wi-Fi once and try switching to carrier communication (4G/5G).
    Reboot terminal
Restart your smartphone and launch the SHIKI application with all other applications closed.
    Remove the cover
Please read the data with the phone cover (especially metal or thick ones, or those containing cards) removed.
  • Step 2:Confirmation of reading position

Place the card so that the center of the card is at the top of the smartphone (next to the camera).
The position of the card depends on the model.
For your reference, please also refer to the following page "IC card set position of smart phones".
    https://www.jpki.go.jp/prepare/reader_writer/android.html

  • Step 3:Scan your My Number Card

Never move or release the card until "Read Complete" is displayed.
It may take a few seconds to a dozen seconds.
Placing the card on the desk and securing the phone on top of it will make it easier to succeed.

If the above does not solve the problem, please try to see if the card itself can be read by the JPKI user software to confirm the possibility of a problem with the card (e.g., IC chip failure).
