Another advantage is reduced costs: DCJPY has not disclosed its settlement and remittance fees, but its blockchain technology-based remittance platform, LITA, is a good reference point.
The base fee for bank-to-bank transfers is 62 yen per transaction, and LITA “can achieve 10 to 20 yen,” according to the company. Existing interbank settlement systems are maintained and updated manually.
Blockchain-based systems have the advantage of requiring less manpower to operate. It is also said to be as secure as or more secure than existing systems.”
