Digital Platformer, Inc. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Kazutaka Matsuda; hereinafter \u201cDigital Platformer\u201d) today announced the launch* of a new joint multi-layered defense offering to counter the rapid surge in unauthorized access and fraudulent remittances caused by phishing scams.<\/p>\n\n

This new offering provides a comprehensive mechanism that ensures both \u201cidentity authenticity\u201d and \u201cgenuineness of intent\u201d throughout the entire process\u2014from eKYC and login to transaction execution. It is designed to address threats that conventional methods cannot adequately defend against, such as AiTM (Adversary-in-the-Middle) attacks that bypass ID\/password or OTP authentication, and SIM-swap fraud.<\/p>\n\n

Background<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

In 2025, phishing scams impersonating securities firms and banks have surged dramatically. By July, there were more than 10,000 unauthorized logins to securities accounts, with fraudulent transactions reaching an unprecedented 6.2 trillion yen. The schemes have become increasingly sophisticated, including phishing emails and SMS messages that impersonate financial institutions to steal IDs and passwords, as well as the abuse of suspicious domains such as \u201c.top.\u201d In response, the National Police Agency and Financial Services Agency (FSA) have issued urgent alerts.<\/p>\n\n

The FSA has made clear that financial services with inadequate cybersecurity measures could face suspension of operations, and is promoting the mandatory adoption of multi-factor authentication (MFA). At the same time, industries such as securities, banking, and e-money are facing severe threats from phishing and socially engineered attacks involving deepfake audio. Static identity checks or single-layer MFA are no longer sufficient.<\/p>\n\n
