Digital Platformer Partners with Shachihata and AnchorZ to Launch Joint Proof-of-Concept and Commercialization for Next-Generation “Identity Verification Service”

— Combining DID/VC and background authentication to bridge “credential authenticity” with “holder verification” for a seamless identity experience —

Digital Platformer Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director & CEO: Kazutaka Matsuda; hereinafter “Digital Platformer”) announces a new partnership with Shachihata Inc. (“Shachihata”) and AnchorZ Inc. (“AnchorZ”) to initiate a joint Proof-of-Concept (PoC) and commercialization initiative for a next-generation Identity Verification Service.

Through this collaboration, the three companies will merge Digital Platformer’s Decentralized Identity / Verifiable Credentials (DID/VC) infrastructure—compliant with W3C global standards—with AnchorZ’s advanced background authentication technology. Shachihata will drive the overall service planning, field implementation, and business expansion. As a first step, the partners will conduct phased technical validations aiming at access management solutions for corporate offices and commercial facilities using digital employee IDs.

Bridging “Authentic Credentials” and “Verified Identity”

While DID/VC technology allows individuals to hold and present tamper-proof digital credentials issued by corporations or organizations, verifying the authenticity of a credential and ensuring the person holding it is indeed the rightful owner have traditionally been separate challenges.

This partnership combines the credential authenticity provided by DID/VC with the holder verification enabled by continuous background authentication. Together, the technologies create a secure, seamless, and frictionless framework for using digital credentials in real-world operations.

Initial Use Case: “Hands-Free Check-In”

The initial use case will explore a “hands-free check-in” system for employees at commercial and corporate facilities.

By combining digital employee badges and access passes stored on smartphones with background authentication and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technologies, the system verifies two critical parameters without requiring users to take out their smartphones or physical IDs:

・Holder Verification: Confirming the user is the rightful owner.

・Access Rights: Verifying valid access privileges and authorization.

Phase one will focus on testing the technical interoperability between Digital Platformer’s DID/VC infrastructure and AnchorZ’s authentication technology, followed by on-site field testing in commercial facilities.

    Roles of the Three Companies

    • Digital Platformer Co., Ltd.: Provision of W3C-compliant DID/VC infrastructure and ensuring technical interoperability.
    • Shachihata Inc.: Service planning, business design, customer acquisition, field implementation, and operational support.
    • AnchorZ Inc.: R&D and enhancement of the background authentication engine, providing personal identity verification technology.

    Future Outlook

Through these PoCs, the three companies will evaluate technology, user experience, operations, and security. Starting with access management in commercial facilities, the alliance plans to expand the service into diverse sectors that require secure linkage between individuals and digital credentials, including temporary staffing, construction, education, and membership services.

    Executive Statement

Ikkei Matsuda, Representative Director & CEO of Digital Platformer Co., Ltd.:

“In digital credentialing, ensuring the authenticity of the credential itself is only half the equation. True peace of mind in real-world operations—such as access control and qualification checks—is only achieved when we can also confirm that the person using the credential is the rightful owner.

By combining Shachihata’s deeply trusted heritage in identification, AnchorZ’s cutting-edge identity verification technology, and our robust DID/VC infrastructure, we are creating a mechanism to utilize digital credentials safely and naturally in daily business environments.

We will first validate both technical and operational feasibility through our PoC, with the long-term goal of evolving this initiative into an interoperable identity verification infrastructure across industries and services.”
